'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' Release Date Details Expected in Bandai Namco's Countdown Teaser

'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' Release Date Details Expected in Bandai Namco's Countdown Teaser

Followers of the franchise would remember that the latest "Dragon Ball" video game is "Project Fusion," that which allows players to fuse two characters for a timeline adventure. This time, speculations surrounding a new installment are up, owing to a mysterious countdown live in a site called "Fly Through Time."

iDigitalTimes is convinced that the announcement will be video game-related, since Bandai Namco and Toei Animation are both mentioned in the countdown site. For those who may not know, the former publishes the franchise's video games, while the latter handles the franchise's anime. The outlet says what's coming up is possibly an anime adaptation, with "Xenoverse 2" being a prime speculation.

Last month, Goku voice actor Sean Schemmel said he a "Xenoverse" sequel will not surprise him. He spoke at the Bristol Comic-Con, "I do think there is going to be... I can't confirm it yet but Chris (Sabat, the producer of the 'Dragon Ball Z' dub) called me and said there's gonna be a game coming out, I'm thinking there's going to be some DLC or maybe another 'Xenoverse' game I wouldn't be surprised. 'Xenoverse' was so successful the publishing company would be stupid not to make another one just for the sake of the money."

On top of the ticking clock, the site also features several pictures from "Dragon Ball" and "Dragon Ball Z" animes and movies, Siliconera notes. These include "Dragon Ball: Mystical Adventure," "Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug," "Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13," "Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound" and "Dragon Ball: Path to Power."

"Dragon Ball Fusions" is slated for the Nintendo 3DS, arriving in Japan some time this year. Meanwhile, details over the new "Dragon Ball" announcement are expected today, at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET. Sit back, relax and check out the live site here.
