More than a month ago, the rumor of Rachel Roy as the woman behind the lyrics "Becky with the good hair" in one of the tracks Beyoncé's latest album "Lemonade" has sparked the internet like crazy. The track is the album's second single called "Sorry."
The song's lyrics refer to a possible betrayal of the singer's companion with a woman who is referred to as "Becky." The album is somehow filled with songs with themes of a woman whom has been mistreated or has been cheated on by her partner.
By the time the album was released, speculations of Beyonce and Jay-Z breaking up is spreading everywhere. The fact that the album is carrying a some kind of a "broken woman" themehas added fuel to the fire.
On the night the TV special on Beyoncé's new album was aired, Rachel Roy posted a photo on her Instagram and captioned with: "Good hair don't care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. live in the light #nodramaqueens." This then sparked reports that the fashion designer must be the girl Beyonce is referring to on one of her songs.
The post has produced a ton of speculations that Rachel Roy just might be the woman being depicted to as Becky in Beyoncé's "Sorry" track. Fans then bashed and flooded the fashion designer's Instagram account, which prompted her to switch her page to private.
Rachel Roy escaped Beyonce, Jay-Z at CFDA
On Monday, at the CFDA Awards, Beyoncé, Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy were in attendance that night to receive the Fashion Icon Award. Coincidentally, Rachel Roy was at the event as well.
This once again sparked the rumors of Rachel Roy's alleged relationship with Jay-Z. The question of many fans is, did the three of them ever crossed paths at the awards night?
Well, as reported by The Sun, Jay-Z and Beyonce were not able to meet Rachel Roy in the event. The "Lemonade" singer intentionally delayed her arrival so there will be a slim chance of an awkward run-in with Rachel Roy on the red carpet.
Meanwhile, a source told Page Six that Rachel Roy left the event earlier than expected, which had fans speculating that she might be afraid to see Beyonce and Jay-Z on the event. However, it was later learned that the fashion designer had to exit early since she had to catch an early flight back to LA to see her children the next day.
