With season 3 of “The Flash” still a long way off, many are now busy trying to figure out what changes will happen once the show returns.
To recall, the last season ended with a bit of a cliffhanger when Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) saves his mother (“Nora Allen” aka Michelle Harrison) from being killed by the “Reverse Flash” as mentioned on Cinema Blend.
The scene calls to mind the animated flick “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox”, something that saw “Flash” lose his powers in an entirely changed world.
But more to that, there is another angle that needs to be addressed and that involved Iris West (Candice Patton). Though it is understood that the two will eventually become a true couple, the events that happened on the “Flash” season 2 may alter or at least delay the on-and-off romance for now.
As far as Patton is concerned, she is aware of the repercussions of Barry’s actions and looks at it as something that may temporarily delay the romance, at least in the early goings.
“Fans are anxiously waiting to figure out if West/Allen has been erased. I think fans can rest assured, we’ve established on this show, Barry and Iris have a relationship that’s destined. They’ll find each other on different timelines and multiverses,” said Patton an interview with Newsweek.
From the looks of it, there will be major changes at least because of the storyline. On the animated series, Iris West did end up hitching with another guy though it remains to be seen if that follows for the coming season.
While it is shaping up to be a real-life rending of “Flashpoint Paradox”, there will be tweaks along the way. Either that or the turn of events will be handled solely by the “Flash” and his team.
A lot of things can happen though Barry is likely to return as a normal being as a result of his actions. So how will his power return which is turning out to be the logical scenario when “Flash” season 3 does return in the Fall?
