‘Destiny: Rise of Iron’ Latest News, Release Date & Update: Expansion Plans to Make Campaign Modes Relevant; Available In Xbox One, PS4?

For folks who have been playing “Destiny," the immediate thing that comes to mind will perhaps be the multiplayer modes over the traditional story modes that games carry. Looking back at “Destiny”, it doesn’t really have a good track record as far as the story campaign is concerned.

But as far as the upcoming “Destiny: Rise of Iron” expansion is concerned, Bungie hopes that gamers will try out and embrace the improvements per Game Spot.

Community Manager Eric Osborne explained to Cinema Blend how Bungie has worked and toiled to make the upcoming expansion something to look forward to.

“This new story is much more heroic and heraldic, borrowing from some Norse themes...From Lord Saladin to the names of the weapons you get in the Iron Banner, it all has these hints at this historical legacy, which kicked off this idea of exploring the past, finding out about these lost heroes, how they defended the city and what the Wall was all about.”

September update will be content-driven

If gamers enjoyed a lot of freebies and power-ups through the gears that were up back in April, the case will be different this September.

As mentioned earlier, Bungie is bent on making the campaigns relevant, meaning that gamers who have wanted improved adventures. This includes seeing “Lord Saladin” having a more active role such as calling the “Guardians” to go on a journey with him and find out what truly happened to the “Iron Lords."

First Task and lots of goodies coming

“Destiny: Rise of Iron” will be filled with new tasks to accomplish. The first one has already been spilled with players reportedly having to climb “Felwinter Peak” and claim new social space where new missions and new characters await.

And like most DLC expansions, the upcoming “Destiny” patch will be filled with new goodies. That includes new Raid, new Strikes, new public events, new gears, new maps and a new multiplayer mode.

“Destiny: Rise of Iron” is due to arrive on September 20, 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and will cost $29.99.
