'Overwatch' Characters Update: Torbjorn's Turret Less Deadly With Planned Patch For PS4, Xbox One, PC Not Affected

Blizzard previously announced that it will be tweaking Overwatch characters to keep the Overwatch gameplay balanced. Sorry gamers but among the various Overwatch characters currently available, it is time for Torbjorn to get nerfed.

Blizzard game director for "Overwatch" Jaff Kaplan posted on Reddit that the "Overwatch" character Torbjorn will get some adjustments to reduce its damage, reports Kotaku. Apparently, console players are complaining that Torbjorn, the turret-builder in the game, is a bit overpowered.

To correct the perceived overpowered damage, the "Overwatch" character will undergo some upgrades, or downgrade might be the more accurate term in this case. Next month, Blizzard will introduce a patch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that should do the trick, decreasing Torbjorn's massive damage by a whopping 30 percent.

The patch will be released in the middle of July, says Kaplan. Actually, the "Overwatch" character's own damage via his Rivet Gun will not affected, it would only be the damage from Torbjorn's Turret that gets corrected by the patch. However, his Turret's damage would remain the same for the PC version of "Overwatch."

There is an explanation why Blizzard is only focusing on consoles to adjust Torbjorn's Turret. PC "Overwatch" players are said to be generally more accurate in their shots than console gamers due to the mouse and keyboard combination. Such accuracy seems to nullify the perceived Torbjorn Turret advantage.

Torbjorn is not the first "Overwatch" character to get nerfed. Other "Overwatch" characters were already adjusted such as McCree and Widowmaker.

"Overwatch" Character McCree Nerfed

McCree is one "Overwatch" character that gamers loved because of his very high damage. Apparently, McCree was so overpowered that taking down the strongest "Overwatch" tanks such as Reinhardt and Roadhog is no problem.

But defensive players complained of the uneven weapons balancing. Devs responded by reducing McCree's damage enough for him to be lethal against weaker "Overwatch" characters like Genji and Tracer but less effective against the more durable heroes.

"Overwatch" Character Widowmaker's Body Shots

Widowmaker's body shots were also adjusted because players noticed that the sniper seemed to be equally effective in both head shots and body shots.

To correct this, devs lessened Widowmaker's damage if she lands a body shot. However, her headshot damage is even more lethal now making her very deadly to other "Overwatch" characters if she hits them in the head.
