'Tom Clancy's The Division' Brings A Lot Of Changes

Ubisoft's massively multiplayer military shooter "Tom Clancy's The Division" is set to get a huge update today, and it's one patch players might be happy to see.

Among the number of changes on the list, "The Division's" Update 1.3 brings a big paid DLC, the game's first, called "Underground." The official site describes "Underground" as an expansion set with a new incursion set in the depths of Manhattan, New York (hence the title), and players will be able to get new gear sets and weapons (nine new weapon types).

The other big change is fixing the way some weapons work. According to Polygon, the most significant modification is to the way submachine guns deal damage in the game; instead of getting perks to the chance for a critical hit, the perk will affect the damage dealt in critical hits. More specific models, like AUGs and Vector SMGs, will get reduced damage, and both items you have in your inventory and items you come across in the game will be affected. Other weapon types were augmented, such as shotguns getting stronger and now being able to stagger targets and assault rifles dealing more damage to armored enemies.

Included in the list of changes is the ability for players to recalibrate their weapons, a pretty thorough list of bugs cleaned up (over 50), and the Terminal, a new social area for players to interact in and find new vendors that can be accessed from your base or from a fast travel spot.

The bigger news surrounding "Underground" and Update 1.3, however, is that Playstation 4 players will be getting it late. Xbox One and PC players are getting it today due to an exclusivity deal with Microsoft, but PS4 players will have to wait until August 2--and that includes the patch.
