Assassin's Creed 3 Will Get New Challenges and Content Every Month

By far the biggest and most anticipated chapter yet to the Assassin's Creed franchise, we should all be happy to learn that Assassin's Creed 3 will keep us busy with multiplayer options long after the players have completed the main game. Speaking with CVG, Ubisoft Annecy game director Damien Kieken revealed that Assassin's Creed 3 will be getting new multiplayer challenges and content every month.

Ubisoft will use multiplayer to separate players from Desmond, and use Abstergo's animus device as a way to introduce separate identities for multiplayer, other people who want to relive the past like Desmond has. Kieken told CVG that, "Abstergo Entertainment will give you insights on the company's future initiatives by granting you access to files and information on products that will soon hit the market. As you progress in the game and level up your character, you access these files and videos. Every month you'll have new challenges to unlock new content that will continue the storyline throughout the year."

We've heard a lot about Connor and the main storyline of Assassin's Creed 3, but this is the first we're really getting into the multiplayer. Until now, we've only heard a little bit about the multiplayer Wolfpack mode, where every second counts as two to four players hunt AI targets.

Kieken delved a little deeper into this mode, and how the new AnvilNext gameplay engine can effect multiplayer like it does the campaign mode. "The dynamic weather system is a perfect example of one the things we've done. Now in the multiplayer maps, a snow storm or heavy rain can seriously affect your visibility, making it harder to spot the other players."
