City of Heroes Shutting Down: Ordinary Gamers Make Effort To Save The MMORPG (Watch Here)

NCsoft announced this past Friday that they were shutting down the MMORPG City of Heroes and closing the game's developer Paragon Studios down.

It appears the game's community is not willing to let the game go without a fight and have taken to Internet to keep the game alive. Gamers have created an online petition to stop NCsoft's.

City of heroes Player Meggan Russell penned the following petition:

"The only ones that seem to want to have City of Heroes shut down is NCsoft themselves. The community isn't ready for this, and neither is the development team; who is getting shoved out into the cold. City of Heroes is not responsible for the loss in NCsoft profits-other games are.

This petition is to stop NCsoft from shutting down the game and let many of its players keep their favorite game going! The players-and developers-are not prepared to see this game go down."

The petition currently has nearly 11,000 signatures and the pages comment board is filled with player testimonials and reasons to keep the game going.

On NCsoft's forum there are plenty of gamers trying a variety of ways to save the game including an email campaign to Valve studios, the makers of Half-Life, to acquire City of Heroes. 

The City of Heroes faithful have opened up two Facebook pages dedicated to saving the game one is called Save our City of Heroes and the other is called City of Heroes Can Not Leave.

If you wish to support to the save City of Heroes movement, you can do so by signing the petition, and visiting the Facebook Pages named above for more information. NCsoft has yet to make a statement regarding the efforts to save the game.
