‘Battlefield’ Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Paramount Television To Turn Poular Game Series Into A TV Series, Will They Adapt ‘Battlefield Hardline?’

"Battlefield" has been in existence for more than a decade and Paramount Television seemed to have taken an interest in the video game. Paramount Television has decided to make a TV series out of Electronic Art's (EA) popular game series, "Battlefield."

'Battlefield' As TV Series

There have been many game adaptations over the years but the public still remained critical. The latest one is the "Clash of Clans," which garnered international credits but remained skeptical in domestic box office. Now, Paramount Television will adapt "Battlefield" into a TV series as The Verge reported.

Paramount Television partnered with Anonymous Content to create a TV series based on EA first-person shooter game, "Battlefield." The multi-player shooter game has taken players to WWII, Vietnam, Russia and Miami with high praises for their combat mechanics and multi-player campaigns.

"Battlefield" will be executive produced by Michael Sugar (The Knick, Spotlight) and Ashley Zalta. According to Sugar, "Battlefield" may create a trend in the world of game adaptations.

"'Battlefield' has a tremendous built-in, engaged fan base, making it a highly coveted piece of IP primed for long-form adaptation," Sugar spoke of the highly-acclaimed EA game.3

Where will 'Battlefield' Be Set?

The details about "Battlefield" series are quite limited. The report has not revealed any network attached to the project. The plot story has not been revealed as well.

In the original titles of the "Battlefield" series were set during World War 1. Screenrant said that the most logical series to adapt is the "Battlefield Hardline."

Instead of the traditional warfare, "Battlefield Hardline" has a far easier background story: cops vs criminals. The game is set in Miami in 2012 and follows the story of a drug bust gone wrong. Admittedly, this "Battlefield" series is not the most popular but it could be a huge hit in Hollywood.

Paramount Television has endless possibilities for developing "Battlefield" into a TV series. They could also focus on the upcoming "Battlefield 1" title. What do you think? Hit us with your comments below.
