'Star Trek: Beyond' Release Date, News & Update: Cast Finds 'Pokemon Go' 'Upsetting' [VIDEO]

A lot of people are enjoying "Pokemon Go" and a lot of other people are putting down the people enjoying "Pokemon Go," but this recent interview with the stars of "Star Trek: Beyond" takes that disgust—for lack of a better word, perhaps—to a whole new level.

The two "Star Trek: Beyond" leads, Chris Pine (Captain James T. Kirk) and Zachary Quinto (Spock) tell a story in this interview with Collider, where they traveled from London to Sydney (perhaps on a promotional tour of the movie) and found that a great many people have already started playing "Pokemon Go." The two self-professed non-gamers (having played old NES games last—the two quickly reminisce about their childhoods playing "Duck Hunt") found it shocking and "upsetting," in Quinto's words. You can jump to the middle for that particular part.

There isn't enough time in the interview for the two "Star Trek: Beyond" leads to fully explain why they dislike "Pokemon Go" so much, but it may have something to do with how addicted people seem to be in staying tuned to their phones in search of Pokemon that aren't really there (to be perfectly honest). It's an interesting phenomenon, but considering the very real human connections the game has made, it doesn't seem to be all too harmful for people.

"Star Trek: Beyond" opens tomorrow, July 22. A sequel to the movie—which would be the fourth movie in this reboot series—has already been announced, Collider reports, starring "Thor" lead Chris Hemsworth as Captain James Kirk's late father George Kirk (a small role he played in the beginning of the first "Star Trek" movie).

Exactly how George Kirk is going to figure in the story when he was clearly killed in the first movie has yet to be explained, but this better be a good one. Meanwhile, "Pokemon Go" has yet to be released in the entire world, but we can all expect a full global rollout by the end of the month.
