Tumblr Latest News & Update: Social Media Network Is Set Out To Allow Users To Get Paid Through Ads?

Tumblr is one of the popular media outlets of thousands of social media users and now, it allows users to make money from the ads.  Unlike conventional blog outlets, Tumblr is unique in a sense that it allows the user to post more than just text and images.  It supports GIFs, audio and video formats as well.

Founded by David Karp in Tumblr, the site served as a refreshing venue for users who wanted to post other kind of content than just simple text.  The Yahoo-owned site has announced last week, much to the delight of its blogger population, that it plans to put ads across the blogs as a means to increase revenue.

According to Tumblr, they are aiming to allow users to make money through ads by the end of the year.  However, this money-making ad scheme to be rolled out by Tumblr is not really compulsory.  Old and new Tumblr users alike has the freedom to choose if they would put ads on their blog or not.

As of now, Tumblr staff are still ironing out some details for before rolling allowing users to get paid for ads but it is reported to be a revenue split scheme.  Another additional thing to note, once Tumblr starts allowing users to make money through ads is that Tumblr accounts are not automatically enrolled in the ad-program.

For Tumblr users to enjoy earning by putting ads on their blog, they must sign up to a certain program first, which is also being created by Tumblr.  For sure, a lot of Tumblr users are excited and very eager to welcome the new set-up of the multimedia blogging site.

By allowing Tumblr users to earn money through ads, it is expected that more people would sign up for the blog site.  However, the users who have been using Tumblr for years and have gained a respectable number of followers are the ones who can most probably benefit from the ads.
