'Pokemon Go' Cheats, Tips & Tricks: Guide To Customizing Your Avatar

A new "Pokemon Go" update now allows players to customize their avatar at any point during the game. Previously, trainers could only make customizations on their "Pokemon Go" character at the beginning of the game.

CNet instructed that to access the "Pokemon Go" customization menu, players have to tap on the face of their avatar, located at the bottom of the map screen. Next, tap on the green menu button found on the lower right-hand portion of the display. Choose "Customize" in the given list. Once the "Pokemon Go" customization menu is open, players can adjust almost anything regarding their character.

The new "Pokemon Go" update allows players to alter their hair color, skin tone, eye color, top style, bottom style, hat style, backpack type and shoe type. Players can also choose between a female or male character. This can be done by simply tapping on the icon of the item that they wish to change. Use the arrows at the base of the screen to scroll through the available options. When they find the right item that they wish to use, tap on it and the item will automatically be equipped on the "Pokemon Go" avatar.

After all the "Pokemon Go" customizations have been made, tap on the checkmark button found on the bottom right-hand portion of the display to save everything. Exiting the customization screen without activating the button will cause all alterations made to be lost.

The Bitbag reported that aside from having the ability to customize their avatar later while playing "Pokemon Go," gamers can also change the name of their avatar. According to one Reddit user, the avatar name can be altered by logging into a different device that has not installed "Pokemon Go" yet. Players can download the app on the different device and they can choose their name in the game tutorial.

Subsequently, trainers can sync their previous data while keeping their new name. However, the approach may have their existing game data overwritten, deleting some rare Pokemon in the process. More updates and details on the new "Pokemon Go" update are expected soon.
