"Pokemon GO" in Hong Kong and Japan

"Pokemon GO" has already been released in Hong Kong and Japan just a few weeks ago. Having Japan as the first Asian country to get a hold of the popular augmented reality game is just right.

Being the birthplace of the first Pokemon game 20 years ago, it is a no brainer. After four days of the Japan "Pokemon GO" release was Hong Kong's turn and after just a few hours from the release, people were already flocking the streets as reported by Mashable.

"Pokemon GO," how about other Southeast Asian countries?

As reported by Mobile & Apps, Malaysian prepaid brand Hotlink has just partnered with Grab. "Pokemon GO" trainers are offered a free ride to their PokeStop location of choice, as well as other freebies such as $100 worth of PokeCoins for the chosen trainers of the day.

In the Philippines as well, telecommunications brand Smart has also announced their latest offering in regards to Filipino "Pokemon GO" trainers. All of their subscribers will get a treat of having free data access to "Pokemon GO" for 7 days.

All these partnerships with Nintendo or Niantic for "Pokemon GO" is a sure fire sign that the mobile app that has taken the world by storm is coming to Southeast Asia soon.
