‘Pokemon Go’ Catch Rate News & Update: Catching Pokemon Just Got Harder, Here's Why

"Pokemon GO" trainers have been furious when Niantic shut down many third party Pokemon-finding apps last week. They were angry because those apps were really helping them with tracking Pocket Monsters so they can advance in the game.

Niantic tried to appease the players by explaining why they decided to cut the links with several tracking services like the Pokevision. According to the game developer, they had do it in order to prevent technical issues and lessen the strain on their main servers. It was added that the move will also help the company to focus more on their goal of bringing "Pokemon GO" to most countries around the world.

"We don't expect these attempts to stop. But we do want you to understand why we have taken the steps we have and why we will continue to take steps to maintain the stability and integrity of the game," Niantic CEO John Hanke wrote on "Pokemon GO" updates page.

Now, this issue may have already been addressed but another problem just cropped up and players expressed annoyance once again. "Pokemon GO" trainers noticed that the Pokemon have become harder to catch in almost every level.

At first, there were reports that monsters that have already been caught and placed inside the Poke Ball can escape. This is such an uncommon event that became more frequent as gamers try to catch Pokemon with higher CPs.

It was reported that the creatures, even those low-level ones, escape at least five times before they are finally captured. This became so frustrating for players that some even threatened to stop playing the game. So, what was causing the sudden difficulty of catching the "Pokemon Go" creatures?

On Aug. 5, Niantic revealed via "Pokemon GO" App Twitter account that the increase in difficulty of catching Pokemon was caused by a bug. They said that this bug is affecting accuracy throw which leads to higher chance of escape and failure to add XP bonus. Lastly, Niantic added that they are working to fix the glitch and updates would be posted when available.
