'Pokemon Go' Latest News & Update: Pokemon Generation 2 Now Ready, Almost

Niantic is now gearing up to launch the Generation 2 Pokemons of the "Pokemon GO" game. The said upgrade is also be supporting some major evolutions of the creatures from the Generation 1.

"Pokemon GO" players should be expecting more thrill and fun as Niantic is said to release an update to add more Pokemons in the game, reports The Bitbag. There are a total of 151 Pokemons existing in the game as of late and some other more are arriving soon via the Generation 2 update.

Additional Region Exclusive Pokemons

Coming along with the Generation 2 update is the incursion of some region-exclusive Pokemons like Farfetch'd, Kangaskhan, Tauros and Mime. It should be noted that these four creatures are only available in specific regions: Farfetch'd can be found in Asia; Kangaskhan is only available in Australia; "Pokemon GO" players can only catch Tauros in North America; and Mime is concentrated in Europe.

Soon to be added to the list of the region-locked Pokemons are Heracross, Delibird, Smeragle and Miltalk. "Pokemon GO" players in Japan and Asia can catch Heracross, while both Delibird and Smeargle are only available in Europe and South America. Miltank, on the other hand, can only be spotted in U.S.

Niantic Now Ready To Release Legendaries

Legendary Pokemons like Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Mew and Mewtwo are also expected to arrive via the upcoming Generation 2 update. These types of Pokemons are not yet available in the "Pokemon GO" game as of late, but players could catch them soon with the update.

The "Pokemon GO" Generation 2 Pokemons are reportedly arriving in May 2017. It should be noted that Niantic had previously claimed that no other Pokemons will be released unless the game can be played globally. An earlier report by GamenGuide has claimed Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Mew and Mewtwo are going to be released after the worldwide "Pokemon GO" release.
