Electronic Arts announced that SimCity will arrive in stores March 5, 2013, a delay considering its previoulsy announced release date was February.

EA has not given any reasons for the delay.

"Mayors! Mark your calendars, SimCity will be in stores March 5th in North America", EA announced through the game's official Twitter page. "Europe can start reticulating splines March 8th!"

EA refers to this reboot of the classic series as "the ultimate city building simulation game, offering both veteran fans and new players a fun, dynamic experience, underpinned by GlassBox, the most complex simulation engine in its class," IGN reported.

The original creators California-based Maxis will be developing the game. It will be created using new GlassBox Engine, thus giving more realistic simulations.

"Requiring a constant internet connection to play, players will interact with nearby player cities to share resources and influence a global economy," Digital Spy reported.

The game that debuted in 1989 has sold more than 30 million copies around the world. As for Europe, the game will be released March 8, 2013. The pricing of the game has not been announced. It will be available through DVDs for Mac and PCs.
