WWE Updates 2016: Will Rusev-Roman Reigns Feud Be One-Match Affair? [POLL, VIDEO]

The stage is set for Rusev and Roman Reigns as the two lock up this Sunday with the United States Championship on the line. While many are under the impression that Reigns may become the next US champion, it is the storyline that many feel should move on.

Earlier this month, we did report on the possibility of seeing Reigns as the new US champion. A reason behind the possible change of hands is that Rusev and Lana recently tied the knot but have yet to take some time off for their honeymoon.

For those who have been following WWE Raw, Rusev and Lana have been getting some extra attention from their recent exchange of vows. Without a doubt, the creative team has injected that into the storylines with Reigns the spoiler and technically the heel.

Who is the real heel?

If that is the case, critics feel that Reigns is not exactly turning out to be a heel based on the storyline. With Rusev fighting for the honor of his wife, things haven’t panned out and such has added a bit of comedy in the mix, particularly on Rusev.

Either way, things are expected to get physical when the SummerSlam card kicks off. Next question is should it be the last?

Some feel that the feud has the potential to flourish if the WWE wants it to. Being a normal match, special stipulations like a “Street Brawl” or a “Hell in a Cell” kind of a scenario could be fit.

If not, seeing Reigns and Rusev move forward with bad blood could be ideal for the WWE in future shows and PPVs. But is this what Vince McMahon wants?

A win by either WWE star could spark a rematch, something that could happen 24 hours after. If not, it could carry on to the next pay-per-view.

If so, does this mean that Rusev and Lana are not due to have a honeymoon anytime soon? WWE SummerSlam kicks off this Aug. 21 starting at 7 p.m. ET. The event can be followed live via the WWE Network.
