The "Shadowhunters" Season 1 recently concluded in May and "Shadowhunters" Season 2 is now confirmed to come with 20 episodes. With that, some spoiler and teaser about the next installment of the fantasy television series are now emerging with additional new characters and different storylines.
New Additions In 'Shadowhunters' Season 2
According to Deadline, Nick Sagar is about to join "Shadowhunters" Season 2 as the Clave Representative Victor Aldertree. "The Have and the Have Nots" actor is set to explore Jace's (Dominic Sherwood) messages with his father and the main villain, Valentine. Aside from Victor, Seelie Queen will also be introduced in "Shadowhunters" Season 2.
Seelie Queen is best known as a master manipulator and the third wheel to Jace and Clary's (Katherine McNamara) relationship in the book version of "The Mortal Instruments" by Cassandra Clare, which "Shadowhunters" Season 2 is based. In fact, she is one of the most renowned characters from the novel and already has a solid fan base.
In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Ed Decter revealed that Seelie Queen's appearance in "Shadowhunters" Season 2 will be the start of "building into each of the realms in a different way." However, Freeform announced that the 57-year-old film director is already replaced by Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer as "Shadowhunters" Season 2's new showrunners.
Clary To Save Jace From Himself
Meanwhile, Movie News Guide reported that Clary will be seen with a much stronger and tougher character in "Shadowhunters" Season 2. The role's star Kat McNamara teased that as Jace learned that Valentine is his real father, she will be there to support him all the way to remove all the hesitations he has about himself.
In fact, Clary will do her best to save the Shadowhunter before he completely submits himself to the darkness. "Clary, on the other hand, has been sort of faltering and trying to find herself this whole [Season 2]. And now has a sure of herself mission to get Jace back and help him find his way," the 20-year-old star said. "Shadowhunters" Season 2 is set to return in 2017 on Freeform.
