'Narcos' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Who Killed Pablo Escobar? New Season To Be More Dramatic?

Netflix recently teased the coming of "Narcos" Season 2 with a new trailer and a poster that asked, "who killed Pablo?" The new season will tackle the death of the drug kingpin and who among the organizations, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and his rivals is the real culprit of his demise.

Who Killed Pablo?

The teaser of "Narcos" Season 2 hinted to reveal the real offender behind Pablo Escobar's, the Columbian drug lord and trafficker, mysterious death. Now that the renowned smuggler returns home, it looks like his life is in a real danger. DEA, the other drug group Cali Cartel, the vigilant Los Pepes and Search Bloc, the Special Operations units of the National Police of Colombia, are all after him.

In reality, according to The Bitbag, Pablo Escobar tried to escape the Search Bloc led by Brigadier Hugo Martínez when they found him in a barrio in Medellin. He was with his bodyguard, Alvaro de Jesús Agudelo aka "El Limón," and the two ran on the rooftops that ignited a firefight. The Colombian National Police fired at them that cause their death on Dec. 2, 1993 that might be featured in "Narcos" Season 2.

Pablo Escobar had gunshots in his leg and upper body, but the fatal shot he suffered was through his ear. This last shot believed to be the cause of his demise that remained to be a mystery who really fired it, which might be seen in "Narcos" Season 2. There are also conspiracy theories that he was killed by some government organization in accordance with other drug cartels.

A More Dramatic 'Narcos' Season 2

Meanwhile, Wagner Moura, who plays the role of Pablo Escobar, said that "Narcos" Season 2 will be "more dramatic" than before at Television Critics Association. In fact, the 40-year-old star described the crime web TV series as a combination of epic and drama. "The first season is very epic in terms of we really explain to people how the drug trade works," he said, as per Slash Film.

"[The] second one, given the fact that it covers only one year of Pablo's life, it's very focused on Pablo so it's more dramatic than epic," Wagner Moura added. The first season tackled the life of Pablo Escobar in 15 years, while the second one will only feature a couple of months of his existence. "Narcos" Season 2 will be released on Netflix on Sept. 2.
