Carrie Fisher To Reprise The Role Of Leia For 'Star Wars 7'?

Carrie Fisher will be reportedly back to play Princess Leia for the upcoming Star Wars trilogy "Star Wars: Episode 7."

When asked if she will be a part of the upcoming "Star Wars 7" she replied "Yes... I thought it was already common knowledge," TheForce.net reported.

Mark Hamill too might be in the movie as he and Fisher discussed the sequel trilogy over dinner with George Lucas, August. But it is now known to what extent they will be featured in the movie, Collider reported.

Harrison Ford too has said that he is willing to come back to play his role as the smuggler Han Solo.

The script is being penned by Oscar winner Michael Arndt, it is still in development.

A representative of Fisher told E! News that she was joking with her comment of coming back for the upcoming "Star Wars movie." "She hasn't confirmed anything," the representative insisted. "Everything you've seen has been tongue-in-cheek."

"I like to think of it as 'old Leia', like, sway-backed old Leia the horse," she said in an interview with "The Talk". "I like the idea of being Mrs. Solo, and we've just fought and fought and I killed him, but I'm sorry. I'm sorry - that's right, I feel badly and I probably had an affair with some general."

The movie does not have a director yet and Disney is hunting for one. There are "a couple of candidates, but I don't know how soon that will be revealed...I can't reveal it, or I won't be alive tomorrow," said Frank Marshall Producer, MTV reported.

Director and actor Ben Affleck, who has directed some great movies was asked if he was open to directing, "I'm glad I don't have that job.  I'd be too busy worrying about how the action figures would look for each character to direct the actual movie," he said, suggesting he was not interested.

On the question if Chewbacca will return to the upcoming series, Peter Mayhew who played the character was asked if Lucasfilm approached him, "No, but I hope they will. Wookiees, and particularly Chewbacca, are base characters when telling the story of Star Wars.  It's important that Chewie remains a part of the story. Everybody loves Chewbacca," The Huffington Post reported.

The movie will hit theatres, 2015.
