Apple Watch 2 leaked images have revealed that the smartwatch will be a gem of a possession as it would come powered by a 334 mAh lithium-ion battery. The health-oriented fitness tracker will now not only prove beneficial for a user's long life but will get a long battery life of its own. Reports at the Chinese social media platform Weibo first revealed this feature.
In the Power Reserve Mode, the Apple Watch 2 will have 72 hours of battery life and according to MacRumors, the next generation 42mm model may have a 35.7 percent larger battery. Currently the 42mm device has a 246 mAh battery. The leaks however do not reveal anything about the smaller 38mm model that is currently equipped with a 205 mAh battery.
In terms of overall design, the Apple Watch 2 will be pretty similar to its earlier version. However, it may incorporate the WatchOS 3.0 that will provide amazing user interface to its users. Earlier reports suggested that the wearable will also have additional features such as a barometer and GPS for enhanced geo-location functionality.
The Apple Watch 2 is also expected to come packed with improved waterproofing and a new improved processor. It may sport a One Glass Solution (OGS)-based display instead of a Glass on Glass technology. The OGS technology would eliminate the glass layers in the Glass-on-Glass technology. This may make the watch slightly thinner and lighter.
According to Apple Insider, the Apple Watch 2 is expected to release later this year and there are also chances that it will be released along with the Apple iPhone 7 in the September iPhone 7 event.
