'Five Nights At Freddy's' Latest News & Update: Movie Adaptation Already Cancelled? Scott Cawthon Respond

"Five Nights at Freddy's" is having its movie adaption and this was announced over a year ago. However, fans are wondering if the film is still pushing through as no update was ever given since the announcement.

Warner Bros. signed a deal with Scott Cawthon in 2015. The entertainment company expressed its desire to produce a film version of "Five Nights at Freddy's" so an agreement between the two parties was sealed.

As reported by Deadline, Gil Kenan was hired to direct the upcoming horror movie. The director was deemed the right choice since he has been known for his frightening movies like the "Monster House" and the remake of "Poltergeist." Kenan was also tasked to write the script and Tyler Burton Smith is joining him as a co-writer.

For the cast of "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie, no details about it was ever released yet so it seems that fans should wait a bit more to hear more details from the producers. Moreover, despite the lack of updates, fans need not worry because Cawthon confirmed that FNAF is in the works already.

"The script is still being worked on. The people involved are taking the movie seriously, which is definitely a good thing!" Cawthon wrote on Steam Community when someone pointed out the lack of update for "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie.

With Cawthon's response, fans can now confidently say that the rumors about the cancellation of "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie are totally false. Incidentally, the film is likely coming out with an ‘R' rating due to the storyline and movie genre which is not suitable for young audience.

As of this time, the reported release date for "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie is on June 8, 2018. Stay tuned to Game & Guide for more "Five Nights at Freddy's" news!
