'Pokemon Go' Cheats, Tips & Tricks: Five Hacks That Don't Work

'Pokemon Go' Cheats, Tips & Tricks: Five Hacks That Don't Work

"Pokemon Go," for all the time it's been with us, is still a largely undiscovered game. It refuses to give up its secrets easily, and as a result a lot of people have a lot of different theories as to how to make the most out of the game.

Unfortunately, not all of the "Pokemon Go" tips people give you are true. MyInforms has put together five of the most spread myths and rumors--some a lot of us have actually believed, because they make sense--about purported hacks in the game:

The first myth is hatching eggs by putting your phone on a vinyl record playing on a turntable. "Pokemon Go" requires you to walk in order to hatch eggs, and for those lazy to walk, they figured that the solution would be a turntable, which would be fast enough to simulate motion on your phone, but not fast enough to make the game think you're in a car. These methods largely don't work because the game calculates walking by tracking your current GPS location, and since a spinning turntable is still in one geographical spot, it won't record the right kind of movement.

The next is a rumor that you can pick up Pokeballs that miss by tapping on them. It's a particular rumor that I've fallen for and tried, to no avail. It just doesn't work, even though it runs contrary to common sense. All the balls you throw in "Pokemon Go" are gone forever, no matter how close they are to you.

Here's a rumor that made a lot of sense: wild Pokemon are influenced by the weather. It was something I also believed, as it made sense for more water Pokemon to appear during rainy days. Unfortunately, it looks like all "Pokemon Go" spawns are largely random. On a related note, although the egg chart seems to be largely true, sometimes the game defies logic and gives you rare Pokemon even through hatching 2 km eggs. Also, there are no Legendary nor Shiny Pokemon yet.

What other false "Pokemon Go" tricks do you know? And which ones have you found to be true?
