'Pokemon Go' Release Date, News & Update: Post Sony CEO 'Pokemon Go' Success Praise, Can OWN 'Pokemon Go' Like App Move Consumers?

"Pokemon Go" success has been praised by Sony CEO Kaz Hirai as he revealed his plans to pursue mobile gaming aggressively. He made the game a prime example of  how success could be achieved.

The "Pokemon Go" mobile initiative has caught the attention of a huge number of consumers. Moreover, it has undoubtedly turned the heads of some high-ranking business executives to break into the mobile gaming market. And this includes the case of the CEO of Sony.

Hirai reportedly elaborated Sony's current position on the mobile market inspired by "Pokemon Go" while refusing to reveal all the details at this point in time. However, the CEO admitted that a change from developing exclusively for PlayStation 4 platform to dedicating resources for mobile projects is substantial. He explained that it is quite a shift from being just a business based on console to being on mobile phones as well.

The CEO of Sony continued to reference the immediate success of "Pokemon Go" as a game changer for the gaming industry. He did not, however, confirmed whether they will be following the trend by developing a similar augmented reality driven software. What he revealed is the company's interest in the way the Pocket Monster spin-off has been able to gather consumers moving worldwide.

Hirai said that "Pokemon Go" is a real game-changer and that he is very interested in the fact that it has the potential to actually change the way people move, literally. Developer Niantic has reportedly revealed their plans to ensure that players are kept entertained by the game, IB Times reported.

"Pokemon Go" developer Niantic for one, is planning to implement a buddy system for the game which is believed to restore the interest of players, Game Rant reported. Sony, on the other hand, has major plans that are suggested to occupy its time, the launch of its PlayStation 4 Neo console.
