Grimer may not look appealing to many "Pokemon Go" players, but reports say that this sludgy Pokemon is about to get really hard to catch. Not only has there been reports that this Pokemon spawns very sparingly, this Pokemon used to cause devices to crash before whenever it appeared.
The Bitbag reports that Niantic had apparently lessened the Grimer nests available in order to reduce the number of players encountering the Grimer bug issue. As for some fans, they believe that the best way to get a Grimer would be through egg hatching things the bug issue has been very annoying for them. Another post by The Bitbag reports that the Grimer bug has still been haunting players by making their phones freeze incessantly whenever they encounter one.
Some experts would say that it is because of the animation used, while others think that it is the lack of RAM or processor power which causes it. Some players, however, believe that the latest update has already dealt with this issue, although there have still been reports of the bug. It is reported through numerous threads on Reddit that this Grimer bug is not limited to specific phones or an OS, but affects each and every player. This issue occurs when a player encounters a Grimer, then the phone suddenly freezes and gets unresponsive until the player moves away.
Niantic apparently heard the numerous rants which players had over this issue, and since its latest update, it had reportedly fixed the issue. While that has fixed the disturbing bug, the new problem now is that the Pokemon barely spawns anymore, making players think that this is caused by the changes which addressed the bugs.
The issue is not only apparent in certain regions, but players from many different parts of the globe are reporting the very same issue. While they no longer encounter the bugs, the Pokemon now is very hard to find on the map regardless of the location. Some players, however, are happy that Grimer barely spawns on the map since they think that it is a good riddance as they no longer have to deal with it.
