Just after "Operation Skull Rain" has been released last month, "Rainbow Six Siege" is getting a substantial update very soon. After a new map and two new operators have been added, this new update brings with it two new gadgets, attachments, and tweaks to three existing operators.
PC Gamer reported that Blackbeard, Doc and Twitch have been heavily modified with two operator special abilities with getting noticeable buffs. Attacker Twitch now has the ability to wield her Shock Drone during the prep phase of a round while Doc now has the ability to use his stim pistol to heal himself and others. This will work to a maximum limit of 120HP, and will decrease by one poine for every two seconds until it bounces back to 100.
GameSpot also reported that Twitch's new Shock Drone can now be deployed other than a regular drone while a second Shock Drone will be there instead of two regular drones. These Shock Drones move quicker and make less noise and have extended range on their darts and no longer carry with them a red light. Blackbeard, however, has appeared to be weakened as it has been noticed that players were just equipping his shield and leaving it on for the whole match. Developer Ubisoft has added another shield but substantially lowered the HP on both from 800 to only 150, which makes him less of a tank.
Also worth noting in this latest update are two new weapon attachments, which are the muzzle brake and the heavy barrel. These come along with weapon balancing as the muzzle break will reduce recoil on the first shot while there is more recoil for the heavy barrel but does more damage. It is also reported that the operator tweaks work a little differently, like attacker class characters are now gaining claymores instead of things like breach charges or stun grenades. For defenders, they have been getting impact grenades instead of the usual nitro cells or barbed wire on this latest update.
Even as "Rainbow Six Siege" is close to its one year release anniversary, developer Ubisoft has not been showing signs of slowing down support. The patch notes even states that more exciting updates can be expected by players soon as they continue to work hard and implement changes to improve the game.
