Canon 5D Mark IV Release Date, Latest News & Update: Camera's Sensor Nabs 91 on DxOMark Score

The highly anticipated Canon 5D Mark IV is set to arrive very soon. Photographers who can't wait to get their hands on the latets Canon model should be glad to know that it's faring well in terms of reviews. In fact, DxOMark recently analyzed Canon's latest model and attached a 91 overall score on it.

According to CNet, the Canon 5D Mark IV received an overall score of 91 from DxOMark. For those who aren't familiar with DxOMark, it is the brainchild of DxO Labs, France-based software company that develops image processing software. DxOMark is their trusted standard for camera and lens image quality measurements and ratings.

The Canon 5D Mark IV received an overall score of 91 from DxOMark in its review, a leap from the Canon 5D Mark III score of 81. According to DxOMark, Canon's latest offering is "mouth-watering prospect for the still photographer." Check out the entire review here.

Meanwhile, CNet reports that there is a dynamic range between the Canon 5D Mark IV and its predecessor because of its 1.5 EV, which is just about equal to 1.5 stops in terms of ISO sensitivity. They claim that it would highly depend on the photographer on what they would consider "best-in-class" image quality.

We recently reported that the Canon 5D Mark IV actually packs a punch in terms of what's inside thanks to the guys over at Lens Rentals who deconstructed the camera. For one's there's the powerful 30.4-megapixel CMOS sensor and Digic 6+ processor that promise top notch quality photos. There's also the capability to shoot 4K video at 23.98, 24, 25 and 30 fps for videographers out there. The latest Canon offering also features a new 61-point autofocus system and 100 to 32,000 ISO range care of the built-in digital lens optimizer.

Those who are looking to purchase the Canon 5D Mark IV should wait for it to arrive later this month with a price tag of $4,399 for the unit with the improved weather sealing and $4,599 for the camera with the EF24-105mm f/4L IS II USM lens. This model comes out next month.
