According to Business Insider, Netflix vice-president of original content, Cindy Holland announced that "Bloodline" Season 3 is going to be the final season of the series. The upcoming season has cut down the number of episodes to 13 which only means that the show will eventually have its conclusion.
The decision to end the series after "Bloodline" Season 3 comes as a surprise since Netflix rarely cancels their original shows. This decision may be caused by the higher production cost. Florida has ended its tax incentives for entertainment projects which can mean that the show's cost may be high.
Deadline reports that the creators of the show are expected to write an ending in "Bloodline" Season 3. Aside from "Bloodline," Netflix's original shows "Hemlock Grove" and "Lilyhammer" also ended after the third season.
"Bloodline" Season 3 stars Kyle Chandler as John Rayburn, Linda Cardellini who plays the role of Meg Rayburn and Norbert Leo Butz who plays Kevin Rayburn. They are the Rayburn siblings with Sissy Spacek as the family their mother.
Series director Tod Kessler shared that they have always planned to make the show a multiple seasons. The series is about family and their relationship with each member. "Bloodline" has always been watching the relationships among the family members evolve.
With "Bloodline" Season 3 to be the final season of the show, it is not clear if Sony TV will try to put the series somewhere else. For now, fans and followers can expect the final season to be back in May of 2017.
