‘Supernatural’ Season 12 Spoilers, News & Update: Meg’s Memories Haunting Castiel, Mary Winchester Relationship?

"Supernatural" Season 12 will see a lot about Castiel after he sacrificed himself, an angel, to be a vessel for darkness. With the return of Samantha Smith, playing the role of Mary Winchester, we expect that the two will also have a special relationship. But fans are also wondering if Meg, played by Rachel Miner, or her memories, will also come back to haunt Cas who is portrayed by Misha Collins.

Andrew Dabb, "Supernatural" Season 12 show runner, said in an interview by TV Line that Mary and Castiel's relationship could come from their connection to Dean, portrayed by Jensen Ackles, and Sam, played by Jared Padalecki. Both have a lot in common, including being strangers in a different dimension. Both have an interesting past as well, with Castiel being linked to Meg.

In "Supernatural" Season 8 titled "Goodbye Stranger," we saw how protective Castiel was to Meg by ordering Sam to protect her when they tried to get the angel tablet. He was willing to leave the life he knew for someone he loves, he said to Sam. Meg, who is from the dark side, said that she understands what he meant. Such love could only be the reason why Meg is changing her dark nature. Would that feeling still stir Castiel in "Supernatural" Season 12?

When Meg was killed by Crowley, portrayed by Mark Sheppard, she was not forgotten by Castiel at all. In fact, he uses the name "Clarence" to hide from fellow angels. That was also Meg's nickname for Castiel when they were still together. In "Supernatural" Season 12, we do not know if his memories of Meg will be swept away by Mary Winchester's presence.
