Movie fans were treated by the first official trailer for the new science fiction film, "Passengers." Sony Pictures Entertainment recently released the footage of the highly anticipated movie featuring Oscar recipient Jennifer Lawrence. In the upcoming romantic thriller film, the actress will play opposite the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor Chris Pratt.
The film is all about the people in Avalon, a spaceship being used as a means of transportion to a far colonial planet. In the movie "Passengers," the people who are given the chance to be included in the lengthy trip will be put in cryogenic sleep enable for them to survive.
In the new trailer material of "Passengers", it revealed the characters of the two leading casts - Lawrence as Aurora, while Pratt will play as Jim. Both of them have apparently woken up 90 years earlier than the scheduled wakeup call. Although it appears that there were more people put in hibernation state, the footage revealed that only Lawrence and Pratt's characters are ejected from their cryogenic sleep pods
The two main characters of "Passengers" are looking for some answers as to why they were ejected earlier than the intended time of ejection. While searching for an answer, the two developed a romantic relationship between them. Jim and Aurora are joined by a robotic bartender, which is played by Michael Sheen. While trying to make sense of what has happened to them, the two discovered glitches and problems within the system.
Their investigation has led them to discover that everyone in Avalon is in serious danger. The two have to find ways to save the spaceship and the people inside it. The pair also found out why the system has woke them up years ahead of time.
Meanwhile, according to Telegraph, "Passengers" also stars critically-acclaimed actors Laurence Fishburne Andy Garcia. The film is directed by Morten Tyldum and written by Jon Spaihts.
