The NBA could very well two of the best big men the league has seen with Kevin Garnett retiring and Chris Bosh likely being forced to do so as well.
Bosh fails to get clearance
Chris Bosh first hit the headlines with word that the Miami Heat star has failed to get clearance from doctors tied up to his blood clot problem. According to the Miami Herald, attending physician found more evidence of blood clotting and such had derailed any attempt of Bosh for a potential NBA comeback.
The report further adds that everything could be tied up this lung. The row is not believed to be life-threatening if treated. That said, it would be unrealistic to see Bosh play through it without getting full clearance.
Chris Bosh will be left with some options following this debacle. That includes possibly filing for grievance with the NBPA, consider a trade if any team would take the risk or retire. A report from the CBS claims that Chris Bosh will not protest the said physical.
Kevin Garnett says farewell
Following the problems Chris Bosh is facing, another future NBA Hall of Famer quietly sent out his plans as well. Kevin Garnett of the Minnesota Timberwolves posted via Instagram with captions ‘farewell’ and ‘thanks for the journey’ which speaks for itself.
Kevin Garnett ends his 21-year-career with the same team he entered the NBA with, following the likes of Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and possibly Chris Bosh.
While Chris Bosh’s decision from here could be anything, the thought of seeing him play with blood thinners may not be the wisest one to make. His competitive desire still flows but the fact is he needs to look out for himself and take his family in serious consideration.
As mentioned by CBS Sports, no one can fault Chris Bosh and no shame in deciding to retire. In fact, people may even praise him. But for someone who has fiercely fought the last 13 years, such is a bitter reality to take.
