‘Clash Royale’ Latest News & Update: Challenge Mode Matchmaking Issues; How To Find Easier Opponents By Losing

Supercell recently introduced a new update for "Clash Royale." However, several players noticed and complained that the new Challenge Mode has been unfairly pitting weaker players against very powerful opponents. Those with strong cards generally have a huge advantage over unfortunate weaker gamers, who have no chance of winning matches.

The new Challenge Mode in "Clash Royale" let players gain some Cards and Gold in exchange for Gems. Generally, "Clash Royale" players in Challenge Mode should expect to be matched against those of equal skill level. The system was set for the two Challenge Modes to reward players according to their wins or until they lose three times. The two Challenge Modes available with the new "Clash Royale" update are Challenges and Custom. Custom is the original tournament mode, while Challenges is the new mode, consisting of Classic and Grand.

In Classic Challenge in "Clash Royale," players need to defeat 12 players without losing three times to earn 2,000 Gold and 100 Cards. The Grand Challenge follows the same mechanics, but provides a bigger prize of 22,000 Gold and 1,100 Cards. Only level 8 players or higher are allowed to play Challenge Mode.

Clash Royale Arena wrote that many "Clash Royale" players complained that they were pitted against very strong opponents, against whom it was impossible to win. Apparently, the Challenge Mode matchmaking process does not mind the number of trophies that each player has. There is a workaround to get easier opponents in Challenge Mode, however, which involves a lot of intentional losing at the start to get a net game negative of -5.

The BitBag wrote that although "Clash Royale" players of the same Arena level may be matched against each other, their card level may be highly imbalanced. For example, Arena 8 players are pitted against other Arena 8 players, but carrying many Legendaries, making them too powerful and providing for an uneven match. Classic Challenge in "Clash Royal" also costs 10 Gems, while Grand Challenge costs 100 Gems, which make the situation worse. With the current "Clash Royale" issue, stronger players can take advantage of Challenge Mode, while those with mid or low-level cards are advised not to try the Grand Challenge.
