LEGO City Undercover, Aliens Colonial Marines And Other Games To Look Forward To On Nintendo Wii U

Nintendo's Wii U is the first console of the next generation to launch and has at the very least has an entire year before the competition launches their new consoles. The question is, which games are going to get video gamers to fork over $300 or $350 on a Wii U or Wii U Premium?

There are a lot of promising games on the schedule for the Wii U and here is our list of five games to look forward to in 2013:

5. Rayman Legends: The direct sequel to 2011's Rayman Origins is a Wii U exclusive and returns to gaming past platforming roots. The game will use the Wii U's GamePad touchscreen in a similar fashion to New Super Mario Bros. U, as it allows a fifth player to aid friends by interacting with objects, gathering collectibles and battling enemies. It will be released in North America on Feb. 26 exclusively for the Wii U.

4. Bayonetta 2: Finally a Nintendo hardcore exclusive to brag about it. Platinum Games' sequel to its third-person action video game will see the return of title character Bayonetta and her four pistols. The game will be made under the supervision of series creator Hideki Kamiya and will be directed by Yusuke Hashimoto and produced by Atsushi Inaba. Hopefully this will be the first of many action video games to come to the new system.

3. Lego City Undercover: Does Grand Theft Auto mixed with LEGOs interest you? TT Games newest LEGO adventure is set in LEGO City where players play as an undercover cop named Chase McCain as he goes on the hunt for criminals. Chase can pilot various vehicles and can also gain disguises that will give him additional abilities. The game will release on March 18.

2.Pikmin 3: One of the best franchises from the GameCube era of Nintendo gaming was notably absent from the Wii generation. Thankfully, Nintendo is rectifying this issue with the release of Pikmin 3 on the Wii U. Players will once again control groups of the small alien creatures as they solve puzzle and battle enemies. The game will release sometime this summer.

1. Aliens: Colonial Marines: The upcoming sci-fi first person shooter is exactly the type of game the original Wii lacked. Gearbox Software's game is based on the characters and creatures of the Alien franchise, particularly the film Aliens. Gamers take on the role of United States Colonial Marine named Cpl. Christopher Winter and will have access to iconic weapons from the films. The Wii U version will make use of the GamePad's touchscreen for an in-game map and a motion sensor. Best of all the game will release just in time for Valentine's Day and is the perfect gift for that special someone.
