‘Mafia 3’ Release Date, News & Update: Extended Gameplay Demo Shows Lincoln Going After Underboss Tony Derazio

"Mafia 3" is about to launch soon. An extended gameplay demo from Gamescom 2016 was recently featured by 2K Games, showing main protagonist Lincoln Clay on a mission to go against underboss Tony Derazio.

VG247 stated that according to Haden Blackman, Hangar 13 studio head and creative director, there are various ways to deal with Tony in "Mafia 3." Lincoln can get to the underboss by direct gun assault, stealth mode or with the aid of reinforcements. "Mafia 3" players have the option on how they plan to deal with the mobster. There are two options to enter Tony's penthouse, and the video showed one which involves sneaking through the hotel garage. The other method involves storming the lobby.

The "Mafia 3" trailer showcased the different elements that make the setting unique. "Mafia 3" is set in New Bordeaux in the 1960s and the game developers planned to present how the criminal environment impacted Lincoln's quest to go against the mob. The various parts of the district, as well as the side missions, will have contributions to the overall narrative. New Bordeaux consists of different kinds of people and players can travel by boat and car, as shown in the gameplay demo.

The "Mafia 3" gunfights look intense, while the story takes on a new approach by featuring a character who is out for revenge against the mob, instead of being part of it. There will be 10 districts to explore, each with its own unique set of attractions and enemies. "Mafia 3" players should expect an engaging storyline and a few twists, considering how crafty mob bosses can be in trying to eliminate their enemies.

CNet wrote that "Mafia 3" is preparing to just be as good or even better than its predecessors. "Mafia 3" will focus more on politics, profiles and logistics. The sandbox gameplay will involve a lot driving, rivals, authorities, story missions and weapons. "Mafia 3" will most likely have more thrills and a deeper story compared to "Mafia 2." The game will officially release on Oct. 7, 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
