Good news for fans of "The Strain," FX's vampire horror drama series. Fans can definitely look forward to another season as FX has recently announced "The Strain" Season 4 renewal.
The sad part though is that "The Strain" Season 4 would also be the series' finale. It was likewise revealed that the series would be folding up and that next season would be the last one.
The announcement about "The Strain" Season 4 done via a statement made by Nick Grad, FX Networks president and Eric Schrier, FX Productions president, reports Variety. Grad and Schrier thanked Executive Producer and showrunner Carlton Cuse, co-writers Chuck Hogan and Guillermo del Toro as well as the entire creative team for the exciting "The Strain" Seasons 1 to 3 they have created.
"The Strain" Season 4 being the finale is unique in that it has the full support and backing of the network. Other horror series were not so lucky; some closures are usually network-initiated and forced upon the shows, according to Deadline.
Originally, the plan was to create a three season series explains Cuse. If original plans had pushed through, the currently airing Season 3 would have been also the finale but it seems like "The Strain" Season 4 is happening!
Cuse explained that after the writing for "The Strain" Season 3 was done, she, Guillerma and Chuck decided that a fourth season is warranted deeming it the correct length to tell the best version of the story they had in mind. It was a decision that FX fully supports. And it is probably for the best for fans as well. Cuse teased that "The Strain" Season 4 will definitely be climactic.
For those who still want to catch up on the currently ongoing "The Strain" Season 3, the show airs on Sundays at 10 PM on FX. There are still five more episodes to air this season with the next one available by October 2 and the Season 3 finale is scheduled on October 30.
