Dead Space 3 Release Date: Visceral Games Says DS3 Is The Best In The Series And Hints At Dead Space 4

Visceral Games survival horror shooter, Dead Space 3 is out today and many fans will be shaking in their seats as they guide Isaac Clarke through another Necromorph filled nightmare.

In a recent interview with the Official Xbox Magazine UK, associate producer Yara Khoury said that he was proud of Dead Space 3 and that it is a much deeper, longer and innovative game than the previous two entries.

"I feel great about Dead Space 3. I'm really proud of what we've been able to accomplish," Khoury said. "I think it's the best game we've made so far, you know, it's so much deeper, longer, it's super fun - and we've innovated it in a lot of ways while still keeping the integrity of our franchise. I think people are going to love it."

Khoury also says that he think that most of the negative reactions towards the game's first action-oriented trailers have gone away.

"Now that people have started playing the demo we've seen very very positive feedback," Khoury said. "People who took issue with the game because we're more into exterior or because we've added co-op are kind of vanishing, because they've seen that we've been able to conserve the Dead Space element of our game."

The associate produce told OXM that the developer did not make any changes to the game based on the negative fan reaction.

"No, we didn't make changes," Khoury told OXM. "I think what happened is that people started talking about it without really knowing what we were going for. So we introduced co-op, and we made sure to mention that the single player experience was still there - that there would be no AI follower - and people still imagined things, you know: that there would be no horror, that you would have an AI follower and things like that."

He continued, "I think with Gamescom we really brought it home, showcasing everything that makes Dead Space 3 a Dead Space game, you know - horror, claustrophobic tight corridors, and so on. I think it just takes a little bit of time for people to understand and accept change when they're so very much invested in to a product."

He says that he wants Dead Space 3 to be remembered as one of the best video game experiences on the current generation of video game consoles. He says, "that's how we want to be remembered - as one of the best and most innovative games of this generation."

Khoury said that the developer still has plenty of ideas for future games in the series, but that it all depends on how well Dead Space 3 is received.

Well, we will always have plenty of ideas to expand the Dead Space universe, you know. Dead Space is much more than just a game - we've expanded the franchise over comic books, graphic novels, animated features," Khoury said. "Our creative team has a lot of imagination, so I can see Dead Space going in so many places, and I think it's just going to depend on how well this game does - if players like it and they want another one then, you know, we'll make one."
