Dead Space 3 Resource Glitch Means No Need For Micro-transactions! [VIDEO]

Some industrious Dead Space 3 players have found a glitch allowing them to grab an infinite amount of in-game currency, bypassing the game's controversial micro-transactions.

As shown in the video below from Gamefront, by leaving and re-entering a certain room, players will get an infinite number of either health or stasis packs, which can be sold for in-game currency. Downloadable content for Dead Space 3 allows players to purchase in-game currency with real money, allowing them buy components for bigger guns, ammo, etc.

Finding a bug that would allow players to farm money or duplicate items indefinitely has occured throughout the history of video games: This one is special, however, because it comes in direct conflict with a publisher's attempts to capitalize on players' access to a carefully regulated amount of resources.

Many reviews noted that, despite the existance of the micro-transaction system, the game avoids putting players in a position where you would need to buy resources to complete the game: Most players won't have too many issues with finding ammo, items, or currency. On the other hand, some reviewers noted that the "Scavenger Bot" system, which serves as in-game access point for micro-transactions, felt invasive at times.

It's unlikely that EA will allow the glitch to stay unfixed for long, so make sure to go try it if you're interested!
