Microsoft Surface Book 2 is the highly-anticipated laptop PC from the tech giant. However, the company has kept mum regarding the official release date of the device. Rumor has it, the 2-in-1 device will begin rolling out next month, along with other Microsoft devices such as the Surface Pro 5 and Microsoft Surface Phone.
The Microsoft Surface Book 2 was delayed allegedly awaiting a hardware launch for the Windows 10 update, HNGN reported. Additionally, the new device will feature 4K display and a new Intel chip which is not expected to hit the market until the end of 2016.
The all new Kaby Lake Processor is expected to clock in much faster and more powerful than the microarchitecture-based Skylake processor in the previous Microsoft Surface Book. Despite the improvements in speed, the device is believed to require less power consumption.
Microsoft Surface Book 2 is also set to sport a three-dimensional display. Furthermore, there will be a USB 3.1 port that will offer easier connections to the hybrid device. On the other hand, the Surface Pro 5 which is also expected to roll out in the same event will host plenty of improvements as well. The Surface Phone too is expected to make a stiff competition for Apple's flagship phones iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is offering a price slash on the current Microsoft Surface Book. This spiked speculation that a new Surface Book will follow. The company has two conditions for offering a discount: that is when sales are continuously declining and when the company will launch a new device. With the Microsoft Surface Book reportedly selling well, the price reduction could only mean that a Microsoft Surface Book 2 is ready to hit the stores.
