"Marco Polo" Season 3 is rumored to move to a new network following a meeting that Netflix allegedly had with executives from other TV networks to get support for the show.The show had caused millions in production and rumor has it that Benedict Wong, who plays Kublai Khan in the series is asking for a raise.
"Marco Polo" Season 3 is rumored to focus on Wong's character who is speculated to give his last epic performance before Khan's death in the series. "Marco Polo" has been receiving a high demand ever since the historical series halted in July. According to GamenGuide the second most watched as well as the second most expensive series production in the world. Fans are wondering when Season 3 will begin as it seems that there are some financial restraints involved.
While Netflix has kept mum over the issue of whether or not Season 3 will be aired, much less when it will be aired, rumor has it that "Marco Polo" Season 3 is being delayed by certain negotiations that Netflix needed to make with other networks and with one of its stars regarding his schedule and pay raise.
Kublai Khan is speculated to be a very important part of Season 3 after a widely-praised stellar performance in the previous season. This time, he is believed to face off with the new mystic Prester John who attacked the camp where the Mongol leader and his warriors are staying.
"Marco Polo" Season 3 is also expected to include the familiar faces of Joan Chen as Empress Chabi and of course Lorenzo Richelmy as "Marco Polo", who with Kublai Khan will return to execute vengeance on the new villain.
The show is also believed to introduce new Asian and European characters as well as other new villains despite the setbacks that the show is getting now. Actors Richelmy and Wong reportedly believe that the show will continue to its finale. However, some reports from iTech Post claimed that the series would go on eventually without Wong's character.
