KickassTorrents (KAT) Update: Torrent Site Ganged Up On; Google Should Let It Slide, Torrent Site Not Operating Illegally Says Val Gurvits?

Recent news and updates regarding the torrent sites continue to baffle those that have an affinity for using torrent sites. For one, the fight to uplift torrent sites such as the KickassTorrents (KAT) have spawned much uncertainty.

There are insinuations that Google should let it slide because these torrent sites such as KickassTorrents (KAT) are not operating with such illegal outlook. According to Val Gurvits, the torrent website is not implicating itself with a criminal offense and even with the KickassTorrents, their operation is not a criminal one as well.

If the operation of KickassTorrents is indeed a criminal operation, Google, being one of one the largest search engine site should start worrying, reports Yibada. Valin further explained that KickassTorrents is not a crime in the US as well and that it is not a criminal offense in contrast to the complaints.

Valin also retaliated by explaining that if KickassTorrents is indeed doing illegal elements, then it would affect Google Inc. as well, but “secondary infringement is not criminalized under the US law,” as noted by the same post. It stands to reason that this is not the first time that particular torrent sites dealt a mighty blow. To prove the latter, an obsolete isoHunt.com also faced the similar complaints that KickassTorrents is presently dealing with.

More report from Torrent Freak relayed further explanation regarding the dispute. Based on the report, "The primary basis for challenging extradition is that the acts of which Artem is accused do not constitute a crime in Poland where he is detained, nor in the Ukraine where he lives and works," says Val Gurvits.

For the past several weeks, the U.S. KickassTorrents defense team initiated strong emphasis into setting up a meeting with Artem, the alleged ownre of the torrent site, but were not successful in attaining their goal. Also, the "alleged KickassTorrents owner is only allowed to work with his Polish lawyers for now," reports the same post.
