To recall, The Flash was able to spend time with his parents in Flashpoint, but he was forced to return to the original timeline after realizing the consequences of his action. He thought he could live a normal life with his mom and dad in the new timeline but he was wrong. The situation only got worse because the original timeline is slowly fading away as he stays in the new universe. So the question remains, what's in store for "The Flash" season 3?
At the end of "The Flash" season 3 episode 1, Barry made the decision to make things right by giving up his dream life and returning to the original time when his parents are already dead. However, he was a bit disappointed because not everything went back to normal. Iris is not in good terms with his father which gives him the idea that some things were altered because of the time travelling he did.
Barry is expected to discover more consequences in "The Flash" season 3. The fate of Iris will be revealed in the upcoming episode 2. If something bad happened to her, The Flash will be forced to go back to the past again and save her. She is his only family now and he would not want her to suffer the same fate as his parents. But this will put the speedster in greater trouble.
Recent reports reveal that The Flash will receive punishments from Time Wraiths for trying to change the past, as reported by Zap2It. He might receive a visit from the keepers of time in "The Flash" Season 3. If he keeps on going back to the past, he might receive greater punishments. His nemesis already warned him about it saying that Time will become his enemy.
