'The Walking Dead' Season 7 News & Update: Ross Marquand Confirms Negan's First Kill [SPOILERS]

There's roughly two more weeks until "The Walking Dead" season 7 returns to deliver one huge blow: Negan's first kill. While some fans had a theory that Negan wasn't really going in for the kill and instead opts for a fake-out, we now have proof that someone is indeed leaving the show as soon as the first episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7.

Ross Marquand recently dropped by Entertainment Weekly to hint at what's to come in the first episode of "The Walking Dead" season 7. As previously reported, the production shot several execution scenes to keep the actors from knowing who will get the boot from the show. Marquand shared that in the beginning, most of them had no idea who Negan's first kill was. But it seems that the actors already know because the producers have told them when they started shooting "The Walking Dead" season 7.

While Marquand did not unveil who was at the receiving end of Lucille in the finale, he did say that fans should expect to feel "thoroughly depressed" when they get a a glimpse of "The Walking Dead" season 7. He also admitted feeling like the execution scene was the most difficult to shoot, echoing Jeffrey Dean Morgan's opinions on the scene as well.

In other "The Walking Dead" season 7 news, it seems that the cast and production are all out with their media promotion for the premiere episode. Creator Robert Kirkman recently sat down with the Wall Street Journal who was fresh off the New York Comic Con. While he too remained tight-lipped on who will see the end of the road on the show, he did promise that the cliffhanger will be resolved very soon.

Kirkman shared some details about Negan, however. Apparently, "The Walking Dead" season 7 iteration of Negan will slightly differ from the character in the comics. The on-screen Negan won't be cursing as much as his comic book counterpart, but it seems that Morgan has got the character's personality and charm down pat.

Catch "The Walking Dead" season when it returns on Sunday, October 23 on AMC.
