This holiday season would be a blast for photographers who are looking to upgrade to newer models. September saw Photokina 2016, where brands showed off the latest iteration of offerings that are sure to blow the minds of photographers and videographers the world over. One of the most anticipated releases this year is the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II, the new iteration of their mirrorless camera line.
The new Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II features a new enhanced AF tracking capabilities and a slew of amazing new hardware and software features that photographers would surely appreciate. First of all, the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II visually and physically is more compact than its predecessor. It has a weatherproof and dustproof frame that outdoor photographers are sure to appreciate. It's more compact than other DSLR's or full-frame mirrorless cameras. It is powered by a micro four-thirds sensor form and is best used with the new 12-100mm f4.0 M.Zuiko Pro lens which will arrive in November. This magical pairing will deliver amazing images thanks to its in-body 5-axis image stabilization feature.
These features of the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II also result to amazing 4K video. Who wouldn't want to capture videos in stunning 4K with such a compact mirrorless camera? There's also the electronic shutter that enables photographers to shot burst mode at an amazing 60fps. For those who stick to mechanical shutter, know that it's up to 15fps, which is also very impressive.
According to Engadget, the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II is powered by the 20.4-megapixel sensor and a dual quad-core TruePic VIII image processor, which results to shooting 18 RAW frames per second in both continuous autofocus and exposure mode. Hardware-wise, it has a USB 3.0 Type C port for better connectivity. It's compact and has an improved grip, so there's also that.
