When the Apple MacBook Air 2016 and MacBook Pro 2016 were not announced during the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus launch, many believed the company was dropping the Air line of products. However, recent reports suggest the MacBook Air 2016 to be very much in production and will be released in October.

Fans of the MacBook Air may now breathe easy as Apple MacBook Air 2016 will be reportedly released with some awesome specs and features. Reports claim the Air model to be slimmer and thinner than previous models, writes HNGN.

As has been reported earlier, the MacBook Air 2016 will sport Intel's latest processor, USB Type-C ports, flatter keyboard and Touch ID support incorporating Apple Pay. Apparently, the new MacOS Sierra update has confirmed the inclusion of Touch ID.

In all probability, Apple will continue with its decision to drop the 3.5mm headphone jack. The expected release date of the MacBook Air 2016 is Oct. 24 when the Apple 2016 MacBook Pro Retina may be revealed.

As per The Bitbag, the MacBook Air 2016 may be powered by Intel's Skylake processors a Kaby Lake processors may not be possible. Upgraded RAM and internal storage is also expected in the device. Apple may also choose to go with AMD's latest "Polaris" graphics processors.

According to International Business Times, the Apple MacBook Air 2016 may come with better cooling modules and a much-improved battery. The fingerprint scanner could be incorporated in the Home button and digital assistant Siri will also be introduced to the device.

If Apple is bringing the 5K technology in October, the MacBook Air 2016 may have the tech implemented as well. Apple Pencil-enabled Mac trackpads will feature an air mouse mode, a rotational controller mode, a joystick mode and an inertial sensor input modes.
