Offline Play Allowed For Diablo 3 On PS3 And PS4

Seems like Blizzard is finally learning a lesson from the server problems they encountered after Diablo III's launch on PC. Speaking with GameTrailers , project director John Hight revealed that when DIablo III hits PS3 and PS4, it won't require a constant online connection to be played, unlike its PC counterpart.

"You can have four people on the same screen - no split-screen, we just zoom the camera out. Or if you're offline," said Hight.

When the game launched on both PC and Mac, it required a constant connection to Blizzard's Battle.net service, even if only playing on the game's single player mode, much to the chagrin of fans.

Blizzard revealed the game's future arrival to the consoles last week, alongside Sony during the unveiling of the PS4. It marks the second time a game in the series was released for consoles, the first being the release of the original Diablo on the first model PlayStation in 1998. That game featured co-op play for two people, but lacked online functionality.

A whole new user interface has been promised for the game's console version.
