'Ballers' Season 3 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Production Will Be Moved? Tax Subsidies, Zika Virus In Florida Affect Show?

Dwayne Johnson's comedy-drama TV series on HBO recently concluded and now fans are waiting for its renewed "Ballers" Season 3. However, there are ongoing reports that the show might be cancelled because of the spreading Zika virus and other issues.

Tax Subsidies, Zika Virus In Florida Affects 'Ballers' Season 3?

According to Metro, "Ballers" Season 3's future is left hanging because of the Zika virus and the deficient of tax breaks for TV shows in Florida, the location of the show. It has been said that the lack of tax subsidies and the mosquito disease might take its toll on the next installment of the program that might lead it to find another location.

Even if the TV series led by The Rock and produced by Mark Wahlberg has been set in Miami for its two past seasons and revolves around the Dolphin players, they will be left with no choice but to move. Unfortunately, "Ballers" Season 3's departure will surely affect the country as it will take "millions of spending, scores of jobs and invaluable marketing opportunities."

Miami Mayor Carlos Gimenez Affected Of 'Ballers' Season 3's Departure In Florida

Miami Mayor Carlos Gimenez and other film czars, on the other hand, are quite scrambling in spite of the threat that "Ballers" Season 3 might move its production out of Florida. They admitted that they have heard the show is leaving and with the ongoing film subsidies in the country, they won't be surprised if they move to another state. "This is an issue that, for [HBO], is worth millions of dollars. We had a good conversation. It's up to them right now," the city manager said, Miami Herald reported.

The news about "Ballers" Season 3 leaving Florida saddens Mayor Carlos Gimenez as he is sure that great opportunities for his nation will disappear. He revealed that they already addressed the issue about the Zika virus outbreak in Miami to the show's executives and HBO is now weighing its options. But the local officials, too, confessed that the real issue is the ending of film subsidies of Florida lawmakers. Although the show is being surrounded with a lot of rumors, "Ballers" Season 3 will return in 2017 on HBO.
