'Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag' Gets Official Box Art, Ubisoft Promises Full Reveal Next Week

The official box art for "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" is making the rounds online.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said a new "Creed" game has been in development for a while now, and claimed the game will be a "major step forward," with a new character set to carry the story forward. As seems to have been confirmed by a recent poster, the game doesn't look to be a direct sequel. Rumors about the game's protagonist point to Connor's paternal grandfather, Edward Kenway, and looks like it could be set in the Caribbean. However, nothing has been set in stone.

Originally thought to be a piece of DLC, the release of "Black Flag" is planned for sometime in the 2014 fiscal year.

The new game will be coming to all the usual platforms, PS3, PC, Wii U, and Xbox 360. Nothing about a release on next-gen systems has been mentioned yet. Publisher Ubisoft is looking to set the record straight soon enough though. The company will be announcing "all the details of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag on Monday March 4th at 5pm GMT," about 12pm EST.

Check back here Monday on your lunch break, and we'll fill you in on everything Ubisoft reveals.
