'Angry Birds' Animated Series Air Date, News & Update: Rovio Brings Back Hatchlings & Blues On TV; Movie Sequel Ready To Fly?

"Angry Birds" animated series are expected to show case the characters of Blues and Hatchlings in the 30 episode of Rovio Animation. In can be recalled that The Hatchlings first appeared on animated clips which eventually gave birth to "Angry Birds Movie."

Rovio, a Finland based company, is currently developing a game which will also feature The Hatchlings of "Angry Birds." The fan-favorite characters will be the major focus of consumer products program for the company next year. Kaiken Publishing, Rovio's partner in print, will work closely with appropriate partners to conceptualize new titles based around The Hatchlings.

"Angry Birds" animated series are expected to mix the current stories on Toons TV with the "Angry Birds Toons" and "Piggy Tales." The snorting green villains are fan favorite with more than six billion views since its debut on Toons TV. "Angry Birds" animated series will debut on February next year on Toons TV which is the multi-platform VOD family entertainment service of Rovio. It is an app available for Android, Amazon devices and iOS. The standalone app is also offered to smart TV systems like Apple TV and as mobile games by Rovio. 

The "Angry Birds" animated series is not the only project in mind by Rovio as the company's profit is improving by $18 million in the first half of 2016. The company is now thinking of a sequel for the "Angry Birds Movie" which grossed more than $347 million from 52 countries.

Last year, Rovio company laid off 260 jobs as it failed to deliver their target for the Angry Birds brand in consumer products, games and media. But with the revenues going in, Rovio is expected to be more stable especially with the "Angry Birds" animated series in the pipeline.
