Android 7.0 Nougat is set to introduce a few nifty features to Android operated smartphones and devices. The operating system's (OS) latest update is set to roll out to various handheld devices that include HTC, Motorola, Sony, Samsung and Xiaomi.
Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are currently running on the new Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The Android system's deployment to several Nexus devices has also already started. Owners of Android-operated devices may expect a similar roll-out for their respective smartphones, however, it may only be available to specific models.
Sony's recent Xperia smartphone models are slated to receive the new Android 7.0 Nougat, according to PCAdvisor. The said company has already confirmed the Nougat's release for its Xperia models, as well as a few devices from its tablet line. Sony's tablet models for its Z3+, Z4 and Z5 series will be upgraded to the new Nougat OT, including its X series.
For HTC, the brand's HTC One A9 and HTC One M9 have been confirmed for a Nougat update, as well as its HTC 10. However, the said devices are expected to get an Android N upgrade in the latter part of the year. HTC has even placed a 90-day guarantee for device owners who will get the Android 7.0 Nougat release.
Meanwhile, two smartphone lines from Motorola's handheld devices will also receive the new Android OS version. These brands include the company's Moto G4 and Moto Z smartphones.
For Samsung, previous reports have hinted of a Nougat update for its S7 models such as the S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 devices. However, the Android 7.0 OS release for Note 7 is still unclear given the smartphone's battery and safety issues.
The new Android Nougat OS will also be deployed to several Xiaomi phones such as the Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3/3S/3A, Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Pro, according to Tech Update. Apart from the said models, the Xiaomi Mi5s,Mi 5s Plus devices, as well as the Mi4i, Mi4S,Mi4c,Mi 5,Mi Max Mi Pad 2 lines will receive the said Android update.
