The special one-hour crossover episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "New Girl" certainly brought the laughs as viewers found Detective Jake Peralta back in the precinct, albeit in the night shift. This is following his and Captain Holt's terrible witness protection stint in Florida. This week's episode was a two-part special crossover with "New Girl."
In this week's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," we find the "New Girl" squad arriving in New York and getting into some sticky situations. For one, Jess runs out to get some special soup for Schmidt, but ends up lending Jake her car, as he's in pursuit of a perp. The two bond over Alicia Keys lyrics and how terrible people are in New York.
Meanwhile, Jess meets Gina in the 99th precinct, where the former has to file papers for the damages Jake caused to Schmidt's mom's car. The "New Girl" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" also found Charles and his son, Nikolaj meeting Nick and Winston as they try to busker their way out of a sticky situation. Seeing that they overspent for lunch, they now don't have money for the subway and have to come up with crazy antics as buskers.
The "New Girl" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" also saw Jess sharing her dismal views about New York to none other than Captain Holt. We also saw Rosa finally making a breakthrough and showing her emotional side when she was seen being sad about Pimento not coming back despite Figgus being locked up. As for Jake, he's definitely having quite a hard time being back in the 99th precinct, as the squad is in the night shift. His best friend and partner, Charles, also now has an adoptive four year-old, so he doesn't have as much time for Jake as he used to.
Fans will love the next episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," as the squad is continuing the Halloween Heist tradition wherein Jake will go up against Holt. Last year, Amy took the prize and outsmarted the two. Who will win this time? Check out the promo below.
